Key Apparel is a clothing company located in Ft. Scott, KS, focused on creating high quality work, industrial and outdoor related apparel. KEY is searching for a Distribution Center Manager to supervise warehouse employees and oversee daily operations.
Successful Candidate Attributes:
Monitors all aspects of the day-to-day warehouse operations insuring timely delivery of product to customers. You will be responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and organized by leading a team of warehouse employees, as well as adhering to current policies and procedures and making recommendations for areas that may need improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily workflow of the distribution team.
Manage warehouse employees and supervisors.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Manage the Company’s freight programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Schedules pickup, delivery, and distribution of products and materials.
Forecasts peak delivery periods and issues appropriate work assignments.
Provides shipping instructions and routing information; confirms and coordinates delivery times and locations.
Responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
Addresses logistical problems and furnishes solutions to these issues.
Meets with other managers to confer about products, shipping times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
Establishes warehouse safety and security programs and training activities.
Manages facility maintenance to ensure safe and orderly facility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to manage and coordinate a variety of shipping methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Five years of related management experience required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse the distribution and storage facility regularly
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
